Trilobites

This painting was inspired by the Oxford University Natural History Museum 'Trilobite slab' which I saw in 2019, then the Emu Bay Shale and the specimen of Redlichia takooensis to which the Museum & Art Gallery NT kindly gave me access to sketch. I wanted also to reflect the excitement of finding a very beautiful specimen and wondering what it was like when alive.
